Matrix, Cinny, and LiveKit — what each component does.
Plauder.Party builds on software you can inspect and self-host.
Matrix is an open standard for decentralized communication. Messages, rooms, and identities are interoperable — you are not locked to one vendor. End-to-end encryption is available for DMs and rooms.
Cinny is a lean Matrix client for web and desktop. Channels, DMs, and room settings in a familiar UI — without a heavy Electron shell.
For voice and video we use LiveKit (WebRTC). Media runs on our EU infrastructure, separate from the Matrix homeserver.
Our own sign-in layer connects the services — currently in development. Details will follow on the blog.
Note: We do not claim to be “better than X.” We offer a transparent alternative for communities that care about open source and EU hosting.
